GATORS PARASAILING

Safety

Gators Parasail has a business license with the City of Madeira Beach and maintains full insurance on all passengers, crew, business operations, and vessels. Unlike other parasailing operations, you board our boats from the safety and convenience of our dock. No need to get in the water and climb onto the boat — this way you can stay dry the entire time. The “Fly Zone” for your parasailing adventure is less than five minutes from our dock, so it doesn’t take long for the fun to begin.

Your Flight

Your flight begins seated on the back deck of the parasailing boat with a friend or two. In seconds, you are gently lifted into the air, enjoying the view of the Tampa Bay beaches from high above the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. For the more adventurous… tell the captain or mate you’d like to be dipped during your ride and, if conditions allow, you can get dipped from your toes to your nose! A freefall to simulate parachuting is included in your ride too. Too soon, it seems, the captain lands you like a feather, on your feet, on the back deck of your parasailing boat. There’s no charge for the dolphins you see while in flight or on the boat as you cruise along the white sand beaches between Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach over the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Parking

Parking in historic John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk in Madeira Beach is available in the Street Parking Spaces and in the Central Parking Lot. Be sure and pay at the kiosks. You can also use the six-floor Parking Garage. John’s Pass Park Beach Lot is another easy-to-get-to parking lot with under-the-bridge access to John’s Pass. The lot, with nearly 100 spaces, is located on the extreme southwest corner of John’s Pass. To get there, simply turn West off Gulf Blvd just at the foot of the John’s Pass Bridge on the Madeira Beachside. Be sure to pay the meters. After you park, walk east under the John’s Pass bridge, and you will be right at the West side of the Boardwalk! Gators Parasail is near the East end of the Boardwalk.

Explore All Madeira Beach Has To Offer

Location

Madeira Beach is one of the most desirable locations in Florida and is a great place to have an outdoor adventure due to the natural beauty of the destination, whether you're parasailing or swimming in the water. Madeira Beach has plenty of places to explore, which includes John's Pass Village and Boardwalk. While spending time in John's Pass you can take in the history and find of eateries and shops. Our parasailing adventure allows you to get a bird's eye perspective of the surrounding area. The family-friendly location makes it an ideal place to explore as you take in the turquoise waters and white sand beaches.

Absolutely not! If you can sit, you can fly. We do all the work — you have all the fun high above the Tampa Bay Beaches!

Do I need to have any experience to go parasailing?

Over the years, those who have gone parasailing have been as young as 2 and as “young” as 102. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. The minimum combined weight is 130-165 lbs, and the maximum combined weight is about 450-550 lbs. Weight requirements change daily due to wind conditions and are subject to the Captain’s approval.

Are there any age or weight restrictions?

No, you take off and land directly on the boat! After we fit you with a special parasailing harness and life jacket, you are seated next to your partner(s), on the flight deck and then gently launched and retrieved using a hydraulic winch system.

Do you take off from or land in water?

Yes! Besides, it’s a lot more fun to go up together! Some restrictions apply depending on weight and wind conditions; ultimately, it’s the Captain’s decision.

Can two or three people go at the same time?

It’s up to you! Just let the Captain or First Mate know if you want to stay dry or get your feet wet in the Gulf of Mexico. We call this a dip!

Do I ever touch the water?

Panoramic views of the Tampa Bay Beaches – Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Redington Beach all the way to Clearwater Beach and beyond! Most days you also be able to see all the way to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Tropicana Field, Fort Desoto and more. Also, keep on the lookout for dolphins, rays, turtles, fishermen, tour boats, sunburnt tourists, lots of colorful beach umbrellas and miles of white sand beach!

What can I expect to see parasailing?

FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) limits parasailing to no higher than 400 vertical feet from the surface of the earth (CFR 101.13). Parasailing is done utilizing 800 feet of towline to comply with the 400 foot FAA regulation in this region.

How high do you fly?

Yes! We do take Observer bookings. Right before the boat departs, if there is room on the boat, we will welcome you on the boat as an Observer. The cost is $20. If you change your mind, while on the boat and decide to fly, the $20 charge is then applied to the cost of parasailing.

Can I go along just to watch?

Bathing suits if you want to get wet, otherwise shorts, T-shirts, and flip-flops. Occasionally, it can be chilly during winter months so bring a sweatshirt and pants so you can layer accordingly. Honestly, we can fly you in a dress or tuxedo — remember – you don’t have to get wet!

What should I wear?

The excursion is part parasailing and part boat ride. You should plan on being out on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico for about an hour from when you leave our dock at Johns Pass in Madeira beach until we return to the dock. Each parasail boat holds up to 12 passengers who take turns parasailing two or three at a time.

How long does the excursion take?

Yes! Our Captains are US Coast Guard licensed Master Captains and both Captain and Crew are specifically trained in all aspects of parasailing, boat handling and flight procedures. We are also current members of the WSIA (Watersports Industry Association), which requires our operation to adhere to strict operating guidelines to protect the safety of our customers. Our parasailing boats are inspected annually by the US Coast Guard, and all crew members are required to be enrolled in a random drug testing program.

Is your company specially trained, experience and/or licensed?

Yes, because of parasailing’s popularity and the limited space, we encourage advance bookings. There have been times when guests have shown up without an advance booking only to have to wait for a couple of hours until there was a space open for them. We take phone bookings. HOWEVER, if there is room on the boat, walk-up guests are always welcome.

Are advance bookings recommended?

We recommend at least 2-5 days in advance depending on the season. For large groups of 12 or more, please call 2-3 weeks in advance. If you are unsure of your vacation schedule, at least try to make a booking early in the morning before all the boats fill up for the day!

How far in advance should I make a booking?

There are some folks who like the idea of a private charter so they can parasail for as long as they want or make their outing more intimate. We aim to please and would love the opportunity to give your group that one-on-one attention. Just contact us for details if you are interested in having our parasailing vessel all to yourselves.

What if I want to do something special with my family and friends for a birthday, anniversary or wedding party, or just want the boat all to us?

Surprises are our specialty! We offer private flights! Many a proposal has been had on our vessels. In addition, we offer a special sunset flight where you have the boat and crew to yourself! All alone! We can even hold a wedding on board or while in flight! If you have an idea, let us know. We will do the best we can to make your moment special. We are here to have fun and make memories.

Can you do wedding proposals quietly and discreetly?

We encourage you to plan for parasailing during the first part of your vacation. The weather at times can be unpredictable, and some folks have made the mistake of trying to plan for parasailing on the last day of their vacation, only to have Mother Nature rain on their parade.

What part of our vacation should we plan parasailing for?

For those that have not purchased Cancellation Insurance you have 24 hours prior to your booking to cancel without any penalty. A cancellation after that point or a no-show may result in loss of all booking amounts.

What is your cancellation policy?

No, although it’s a very good idea since you will be participating in a watersport. Everyone who parasails must wear a life vest.

Do I have to know how to swim?

We can’t fly in the rain. If it clears up, we’ll open up. The wind can also shut us down. If it’s excessively windy, we must shut down.

Will you open if it’s raining?

We work closely with the best jet ski and boat rental companies in the area and can offer you a combo package and save you some money on both parasailing your jet ski or boat rental. Be sure and ask when you call to make your booking.

What do people say about Gators Parasail?

Captain Bryce and crew member Alayna were excellent hosts. We had four flyer’s and two riders. The experience was amazing. We have used this service before and they were top notch once again. They were a friendly and helpful crew as well as able to answer questions, engage with guests while maintaining a safe environment for everyone. We have family from overseas riding and flying so they were extra helpful and patient with us. We thank you again and recommend them for all of their services.

Had the most amazing experience at Gator Parasale. Went out with Bryce and Terry and enjoyed every minute. We even had time on the way in to see Dolphins 🐬 . My daughter wasn't sure at first but was put at ease and really enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend to all families visiting to put aside some time to enjoy this amazing activity. We then went out on the jet ski to finish off this amazing day! A big thank you from the Conroy family.

had a great time on the parasail boat with the family (10 of us)... captian bryce was amazing, he was great with the kids. he also asked if we wanted to get wet and we agreed and got dunked and dragged across the water before landing back on the boat, the other just wanted their toes to get wet.... got to see dolphins on the way back to the pass... 100% recommend gators parasail to anyone wanting to go....

I am absolutely terrified of heights and deep water but for some reason, (maybe vacation mode), this was absolutely exhilarating. Loved the professionalism of the boat crew. I pinched my finger on the railing you hold onto so that wasn't great but overall it was super fun. My arms hurt from holding on so tightly because I was scared at first but I finally let go and realized I was fully supported by the harness and then I was having a blast. Highly Recommend. The owner also let us park in his spot because we have a huge monster like truck and had no where to park down in that area. Very cool people.
